Fried Pizza Dough

11 c. sifted flour

2 tbsp. salt

2 tbsp. sugar

2 c. lukewarm water

2 c. lukewarm milk

1/4 c. oil

1 pkg. dry yeast

(Can also be for Tomato Pizza)

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. let set for 5 minutes.
  2. Put 8 c. of flour into a large bowl. Add the rest of the ingredients, and mix with a wooden spoon. Turn out onto a floured board and knead with hands, adding the rest of the flour as it is needed.
  3. Put in a greased bowl and cover. Let it rise about 2 1/2 hours.
  4. For fried pizza dough: Pat out a small portion of dough on a floured board. Cut in strips 1 x 3”. Let rest 5 minutes.
  5. Fry in very hot oil about 1/2 inches deep until golden brown. Refrigerate rest of dough in a tightly covered bowl or freeze.
